Thought I’d share this Easter lesson we did with our kids last year in case it helps any of you. We had so much fun doing these things last year with the Come Follow Me study! The YouTube link for the cartoon has been removed, but you can find it on Living Scriptures (“He is Risen”), and I think you can get a free month subscription from them right now. I hope you all have a great Easter!!
We did this countdown the week before Easter last year and LOVED it! I’ve added a few Book of Mormon references as well as Christ’s visit to the Americas to go with the 2020 Come Follow Me Book of Mormon theme, and I’m SO excited to do it again this year! Each day during the week before Easter, we’ll take out an egg from our Easter basket that has a picture of what Jesus did on that day during the last week of His life (plus some treats 🙂), read the scriptures and description from the church’s website of what He did on that day of the week, and then put that picture up on this banner to remind us of what Easter’s really about. We’ll probably do a regular lesson the week before this week as well to include more Book of Mormon things from this year’s Come Follow Me manuals, and I’ll post that as soon as I’ve got it put together.
With church being completely at home this week, I thought we’d share this activity we did with one of our lessons last year that our kids LOVED. We just cut out holes for them to put their heads in so they could pretend to be at a pulpit and share their testimonies with all of us. Feel free to download the printables for it here if you think your family could use this with “home church” today. This link also includes a printable microphone and instructions for making a simple homemade pretend microphone using tin foil and paper towel rolls.
